Happy New Year, marvelous Montana music educators!
My name is Abby Nyhof, and I’m the new “Communications Coordinator” for MGMTA. That means I have the privilege of managing this website, its new and improved blog, and soon enough, an increased social media presence. My goal in this new position is to work on connecting general music teachers across this great big Treasure State.
I’m in my seventh year in the Helena School District. I grew up and attended college in the state of Michigan and have also lived in South Dakota. I completed Orff Level I in Missoula a couple summers ago, and have also studied First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege. I’m currently working on my Masters from MSU. I’m all about technology, community theatre, and Paul Simon.
But enough about me.
Let’s hear from you! I’m seeking guest contributors for the MGMTA site. There are two possible levels of participation here- let’s start with the easy one.
- Featured Teacher: As a featured teacher on MGMTA.org, a photo of you and/or your students will grace our landing page, along with your name and a brief caption. We’d love to showcase your students- whether they are playing instruments, singing, folk dancing, you name it- or we’d love to showcase your classroom space or YOU!
- Guest Blogger: Do you like to write? Share a 250-800 word post on the topic of your choice: classroom management, a favorite lesson, a special event, it’s up to you! Please plan to provide a photo of yourself or your students as well.
All you need to do to contribute is fill out the form above and I will contact you with more information. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge and experience with your Montana colleagues!
Now, let’s celebrate getting back into the groove of school with a giveaway. Whether you’re into the guest contributor thing or not, just follow the directions in the widget below and you’ll be entered to win a Hoberman Sphere for your classroom.
Happy New Year from MGMTA!
